Mug Club Kickoff with Earth Body Pottery at Kalamazoo Backyard Yogis
KBY is finally starting a mug club—and you’re invited to help us kick it off in the best way possible: by making your own mug. Join us for an evening of community, creativity, and clay with Jerico local ceramic artist Emily Betros of Earth Body Pottery. You’ll hand-build a mug (KBY-themed if you’d like!) and become a part of our Mug Club—a cozy little corner of studio life where your mug lives here, waiting for you whenever you stop in for tea, coffee, or water. Your spot in the Mug Club is included with admission and renews annually for $25.
Tickets are $60 and include everything you need to create your mug, plus light snacks and refreshments. We’ll have drinks with lids and straws so you can sip while you build—it gets messy. No rush, no formality—just a sweet time to make something by hand and connect with community.
We also invite you to bring a period product to donate to the Care Collective of Southwest Michigan, who work to increase access to period supplies and reproductive health resources throughout our region. Their mission: Care Collective of Southwest Michigan strives to advance reproductive justice by connecting individuals to care, building collective power, and removing barriers to access.
Two service exchange tickets are available for $40 each for folks willing to help clean the floors, tidy the space, and assist with transporting projects and heavier tables after the event. Please only select this option if you’re comfortable lifting and staying a bit later to help us close up.
Kalamazoo Backyard Yogis exists to build community, foster well-being, and provide an equitable space for those most often left out of yoga. Celebrating all bodies. You are good.
