Building Updates!

Over the last few months we’ve taken on a few major building projects. In the North building, we’ve been working on building out the new GUILD space. Formly in the space known as the Jerico Workshop Room, Guild is a community space for fostering creativity, connection, and generosity, offering free community space and a wide variety of tools and materials for art and craft making! We’ve begun building out the space and adding lots of paint. A new lobby area off the grey steel doors will be built out, with windows looking into the Guild space - along with a long awaited first floor bathroom! We’ve still quite a ways to go, but we can’t wait to have a new community space for everyone to enjoy.

In the South building, a new key-less entry has been added to the rear door. At the moment, we’re currently putting the finishing touches on new bamboo flooring in the Backyard Yogis studio. We started from scratch adding new concrete, leveling, subflooring, bamboo flooring, and trim. We’re happy to be at the finish line!

Jerico

Jerico is a community of creative entrepreneurs, makers, and artists founded by Krystal and Jeb Gast in 2014. Located in three historic buildings at the industrial edge of the Edison neighborhood in Kalamazoo, MI, the community is home to 23 shared and individual studio spaces currently occupied by a broad range of creative operations, including fine artist studios, an industrial design agency, video and music production studios, a rentable photography studio, coffee shop, yoga studio, tattoo shop and more.

We work to provide physical space and other opportunities to creatives and artists in Southwest Michigan. Our workshops, faire’s, art gallery, and private resident studios provide unique opportunities to the greater Kalamazoo community for artistic and creative experiences. Come see it for yourself!
