Emerging Artists Showcase Series. This eclectic music showcase brings together a mix of local talents, offering a unique blend of sounds and styles. Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant local music scene of Kalamazoo.
Zero Sun is a 4-piece band from Kalamazoo Michigan, consisting of Brody Barr on vocals and guitar, Julian Barry on bass, Quinn Sahlgren on keys, and Jake Hess on drums. Zero sun has a sound you can't just put one singular genre on. Their indie, grunge, and new wave sound creates a unique blend of sounds, ranging from soft to hard rock. Jake, Brody, and Quinn met through the "Kalamazoo Academy Of Rock" and have been playing with each other for a while. When they began to write music outside of the KAR program, Julian took the reins as bassist, making them a full quartet, and a power force of a band.
The Cerulean Fish is an alternative rock/ indie band that plays covers from artists such as the backseat lovers, Radiohead, and Steve lacy.
